Jenna TalackovaJenna Talackova, the transgendered contestant in last May’s Miss World Canada pageant, is competing let's focus on another title: reality television star.
Talackova, 24, has partnered with Toronto’s Peacock Alley Entertainment to create a show about her existence known as Boy Meets Girl. The TV production clients are creating a pilot for Bell Media, based on Peacock Alley executive producer Barbara Mudd.
Because The Vancouver Sun spoken with her about grand marshaling the Vancouver Pride Parade and hobnobbing using the mayor in August, Talackova, 24, continues to be busy - and not simply with boys.
In the last four several weeks she’s illuminated a star-speckled gala in Toronto, spoken out against outmoded definitions of transsexualism, addressed first nations and women’s groups in B.C. and made curiosity about her approaching reality TV program, to become shot in metropolitan areas around the world.
“I’m happy,” she states. “I’m still finding myself, obviously ....”
That procedure for “finding herself” includes ongoing piano training, vocal training, dance training and speaking in public training. She practices the very first two disciplines daily, with training two times weekly for that first three.
She’s desired to study music since childhood. “I have no idea, I had been too A-D-D then,” she states.
Because the pageant, Talackova has gotten lots of modeling demands, including Playboy, she states, and she’s thinking about a couple of these. She was at costume at Toronto’s Brazilian Ball and it has been asked to get familiar with Rio p Janeiro’s Circus parade.
She's been busy with singing, piano, dance and acting classes. “Right now my dream will be a singer,” she creates.
And she’s offered as grand marshal from the Vancouver Pride Parade and released a big change.net petition to obtain the World Health Organization to get rid of transsexualism from the listing of mental disorders. “The creator put me about this earth to become a role model to other people studying the same encounters which i have,” states the 6-feet-1 blond.
Born a boy and named Walter, Talackova states she understood from the youthful age that they was at the incorrect body. She started receiving hormone therapy at 14 and experienced sex-reassignment surgery 5 years later.
The wonder contestant made worldwide headlines once the Miss World pageant, possessed by Jesse Trump, disqualified her as not really a “naturally born female.” A blogger had outed her as taking part inside a transsexual beauty contest in Thailand.
Rich in profile U.S. lawyer Gloria Allred taking on her cause, Talackova made the models of large-title television interviewers, including ABC’s Barbara Walters. In April, Trump reinstated her, and also the pageant transformed its rules.
From the 62 women within the Miss World Canada pageant, Talackova advanced to the peak 12 but didn't reach the final five. She did, however, beat all of them on another score: Yahoo Canada’s top looks for 2012 rated “Jenna Talackova” number 10.
New Year’s plans continue to be uncertain, although Dallas is a party option. The little one who was raised in southeast Vancouver might have grown too large on her stilettos.
